Services

Here are some services we offer.  If you don't see the service you need, please call.  If we don't offer it we will gladly refer you to someone in our industry that does.

Note - A qualified Marine Surveyor is a professional who is capable of in-depth assessment of a vessel's systems.  Hull integrity, mechanical review, operational readiness, verification of all safety systems and accurate determination of current market value require detailed attention.  A qualified professional is experienced and credentialed.  Accreditation with an organization such as the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors is mandatory for findings to be accepted by insurance companies and lenders.  Verify the credentials of anyone you retain to survey your vessel.

Appraisal-Only Inspection
This very limited hull inspection & overall vessel review is performed to gather enough information to justify or determine the fair market value. This is normally needed for estate settlements, donations & divorce settlements. The vessel's safety systems are not analyzed, therefore, a fully comprehensive survey will be required prior to insuring or launching.

Pre-Purchase Survey
Boats are expensive.  Latent damage & hazards can be difficult to detect, even for a professional.  Any boat's condition impacts it's value.  Are you paying a fair value for your purchase?  What repairs will become necessary before you can get insurance? Why take the unnecessary risk? In most cases, your pre-purchase survey can be used to insure the boat after the purchase. This should be the most comprehensive inspection you can afford and is strongly advised when purchasing any vessel. Condition and overall operation of the vessel needs to be examined. You can limit what we cover.  But, we recommend inspection of structural integrity, electrical systems, propulsion system, fuel system, other machinery, navigation equipment, miscellaneous on-board systems, cosmetic appearance, electronics, and overall maintenance.  In most cases an out-of-water inspection and a sea trial are recommended.

Insurance Survey (AKA: Condition & Value Survey)
This inspection is performed so that the insurance company can determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk. They are interested in structural integrity and safety for its intended use. Most insurance companies require a triennial survey on boats older than seven years. They will also want to know the vessel's fair market value.

Damage Inspection
This is performed to assess the extent of damage, recommend repairs, estimate repair cost, and if requested, probable cause.
